It has opened the possibility of exploring a wide range of new issues as well as rethinking many assumptions that derived from nation-centered or Eurocentric narratives. The deconstructive approach that drives much global historical research, however, has not been applied to questioning the ethnocentric conceptions of law. This lack of attention ultimately risks reintroducing Eurocentric narratives through the back door. Legal history has only recently begun to take the challenges of global history seriously and certainly much more research is required to produce truly global narratives of the development of law. The historical study of law, however, is moving in new directions and sustained dialogue with global and social history will contribute greatly to the development of these fields of research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Conference by Manuel Bastias Saavedra, of the Max Plant Institute, in the Seminar of Postgraduate Studies in History of ICS- ULisbon, on December 4, 2020, at 14:30, on Zoom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":6163,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_cbd_carousel_blocks":"[]","_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[42],"tags":[110],"class_list":["post-6159","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-divulgacao","tag-justice"],"translation":{"provider":"WPGlobus","version":"3.0.0","language":"en","enabled_languages":["en","pt"],"languages":{"en":{"title":true,"content":true,"excerpt":true},"pt":{"title":true,"content":true,"excerpt":true}}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6159","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/9"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=6159"}],"version-history":[{"count":11,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6159\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":6553,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6159\/revisions\/6553"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/6163"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6159"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=6159"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/gi-imperios.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=6159"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
