\"\"Forms of resistance in the Portuguese empire (16th to 19th centuries),<\/strong> is the name of the doctoral course that will be taught at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, in Argentina, between 23 and 26 August 2023. This course is part of the activities developed by members of the Research Group Imp\u00e9rios, Colonialismo e Sociedades P\u00f3s-Coloniais<\/strong><\/a> of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, who are on a Research Exchange period at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina. For around 30 days, they will take part in various activities in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, in close cooperation with the local academic community.<\/p>\n

The researcher that will be taking part in this activity are:<\/p>\n

Kevin Carreira Soares (PIUDHist\/ICS-UL)<\/a>, with the topic “Resistencia a la disciplina religiosa basada en los decretos de los Concilios Provinciales en Asia y Am\u00e9rica (siglos XVI y XVII)” <\/strong>(class 2);<\/p>\n

Joana Fraga (ICS-UL)<\/a>, with the topic “Comunicaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica y conflicto en el Estado indio (siglo XVII)” <\/strong>(class 3);<\/p>\n

\u00c2ngela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL)<\/a>, with the topic “Inconfidencias y conjuras entre el Atl\u00e1ntico y el \u00cdndico (siglo XVIII)” <\/strong>(class 4);<\/p>\n

Isabel Corr\u00eaa da Silva (ICS-UL)<\/a>, with the topic “Esclavos e indios en la Am\u00e9rica portuguesa y el proyecto ilustrado de una monarqu\u00eda atl\u00e1ntica” <\/strong>(class 7);<\/p>\n

Nuno Gon\u00e7alo Monteiro (ICS-UL),<\/a> with the topic “Modelos de conflicto y formas de resistencia colectiva en el reino de Portugal y Algarve (1621-1825) yInstituciones europeas y resistencias en espacios coloniales” <\/strong>(class 8 e 9).<\/p>\n

These activities take place within the framework of the project Rebellion and Resistance in the Iberian Empires, 16th-19th centuries<\/b><\/a>, which has received funding from the European Union, through the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Grant Agreement No 778076. This Doctoral Course was coordinated by Isabel Corr\u00eaa da Silva (ICS-UL)<\/a>. The ICS team is led by \u00c2ngela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
