\"\"\u00c2ngela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL)<\/a> has presented a talk entitled “La presencia pol\u00edtica portuguesa en Asia” (The Political Portuguese Presence in Asia), at the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educaci\u00f3n of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, in Argentina.\u00a0 This presentation is part of the “C\u00e1tedra Historia Sociocultural del mundo luso-brasile\u00f1o I y II” and the “Programa Interinstitutional del Mundo Atl\u00e1ntico en la Modernidad Temprana”, aiming to promote dialogue and knowledge exchange about the Portuguese Empire to graduate and post-graduate students in Argentina. It took place on August 24, 2023, at Edificio C, classroom 333.<\/p>\n

This conference is part of the activities developed by members of the Research Group\u00a0Imp\u00e9rios, Colonialismo e Sociedades P\u00f3s-Coloniais<\/strong><\/a> of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, who are on a Research Exchange period at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina. For around 30 days, they will take part in various activities in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, in close cooperation with the local academic community.<\/p>\n

Participating in the activities are \u00c2ngela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL)<\/a>, Isabel Corr\u00eaa da Silva (ICS-UL)<\/a>, Joana Fraga (ICS-UL)<\/a>, Kevin Carreira Soares (PIUDHist\/ICS-UL)<\/a>, and Nuno Gon\u00e7alo Monteiro (ICS-UL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These activities take place within the framework of the project Rebellion and Resistance in the Iberian Empires, 16th-19th centuries<\/b><\/a>, which has received funding from the European Union, through the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Grant Agreement No 778076.
