On August 25, 2023, Isabel Corr\u00eaa da Silva (ICS-UL)<\/a>, Joana Fraga (ICS-UL)<\/a>, Kevin Carreira Soares (PIUDHist\/ICS-UL)<\/a> interacted with around a hundred students from the Liceo V\u00edctor Mercante and the Bachillerato de Bellas Artes in the city of La Plata, Argentina. For around two hours, students aged between 14 and 17 participated in the debate of ideas related to episodes of resistance in the Iberian empires between the 16th and 19th centuries and how these legacies are still present today. The discussion was based on the recently published book Religi\u00e3o e mulheres. Resist\u00eancias nos Imp\u00e9rios Ib\u00e9ricos, 1500-1850<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

These presentations are part of the activities developed by members of the Research Group Imp\u00e9rios, Colonialismo e Sociedades P\u00f3s-Coloniais<\/strong><\/a> of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, who are on a Research Exchange period at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina. For around 30 days, they will take part in various activities in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, in close cooperation with the local academic community.<\/p>\n
