Ângela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL) and Nuno Gonçalo Monteiro (ICS-UL) will be participating at the seminar “El imperio portugués y el español en perspectiva comparada: el ejercicio del poder políticas y las prácticas sociales (siglos XVI al XIX)”. This event is organized by the “Instituto de Historia de España Dr. Claudio Sanchez-Albornoz” of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. The objective is to create moment of debate with the local academic community and society in general.

Nuno Gonçalo Monteiro (ICS-UL) – Migración, movimiento de personas e identidades sociales: el Atlántico imperial portugués (1640-1808)
These presentations are part of the activities developed by members of the Research Group Impérios, Colonialismo e Sociedades Pós-Coloniais of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, who are on a Research Exchange period at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina. For around 30 days, they will take part in various activities in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, in close cooperation with the local academic community.
Participating in the activities are Ângela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL), Isabel Corrêa da Silva (ICS-UL), Joana Fraga (ICS-UL), Kevin Carreira Soares (PIUDHist/ICS-UL), e Nuno Gonçalo Monteiro (ICS-UL).
These activities take place within the framework of the project Rebellion and Resistance in the Iberian Empires, 16th-19th centuries, which has received funding from the European Union, through the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Grant Agreement No 778076. The ICS team is led by Ângela Barreto Xavier (ICS-UL).
